Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate, assemble, and record and complete and orderly historical account of the events involved in the integration of the Weakley County, Tennessee, School System. The study related situations involving integration whereby only one Negro child enrolled in a white school under the Freedom of Choice Plan and the initiation of total integration on a county wide basis the following year. Total integration involved both students and faculties. Some schools were discontinued. One new school evolved with a predominantly white student body and teaching staff headed by a Negro principal.
