Abstract
The purpose of this research was to compare existing neutral detergent methods and enzymatic methods. Green beans were selected as the experimental medium because of their high fiber and low starch content. Homogeneous, fresh green beans were washed, dried, and trimmed for ends. The reference values for comparison were dietary fiber and neutral detergent fiber values recorded by Hartland (1980). The t-test for small samples was used by design to analyze the values form three replications for each procedure. [continues]
