Abstract
The purpose of this study was to see if educational sessions designed to increase self-esteem are beneficial, and in turn lead to an increase in grade point average. A control (n=24) and an experimental (n=20) group of third-grade students from a rural elementary school were used to conduct this experimental field study. Tow meetings were held per week for six weeks with the experimental group, focusing on self-esteem improvement, and using the Self-Esteem Enhancement Curriculum. Students in the control and experimental groups were pre-and posttested on self-esteem, using the Self-Esteem Index. [continues]
