Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine if a significant difference in the extracurricular involvement and academic performance as undergraduates existed between alumni donors and non-donors of the University of Tennessee at Martin. The study involved 142 alumni who had graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin between 1953 (the first year the institution awarded baccalaureate degrees) and 1968. Seventy-one of these alumni had made at least one monetary gift to the University between 1953 and 1968 and seventy-one had not. [continues]
