Abstract
The purpose of this study was to derermine if there is any relationship between music reading achievement and language reading achievement of boys and girls in teh fifth grade who had taken at least three years of school music but who had received no private music instruction. It was also the purpose of this study to determine if there is any difference between boys and girls in the ability to read music. A group of 96 fifth grade students in the fifth grade in the Union City, Tenenssee schools was selected for the study.
